This is a project-based recruitment, which means that the contract will be tied to the duration of our collaboration with the client. Once the project ends or the cooperation is terminated, your contract with Merixstudio will also end. We anticipate the project to be long-term — while the initial scope is planned for 6–12 months, we estimate the overall collaboration may extend up to 2 years or more.

The recruitment process consists of two stages - a 45 minutes intro call with HR and the technical interview, which takes around 1 hour.

That said – we’re looking for someone who’s totally not just into quick MVPs but rather enjoys taking technical ownership and continuously improving a complex product. You'll join an agile cross-functional team of Product Owner, Backend Dev, QA, DevOps and Product Designer - so we’re looking for someone independent, and confident in working with legacy code.

You'll work on the continued development of a comprehensive software solution designed specifically for youth welfare organizations in Germany.

This is not just a typical maintenance gig – although you'll spend time improving and stabilizing the existing codebase, you'll also play a key role in designing and building new features, with a strong focus on cash management and invoicing modules. These are critical for the platform’s growth and commercial success.

who you are

you have at least 5 years of experience in Web Development with JavaScript
you have very good knowledge of JavaScript
you have practical experience and you feel confident using TypeScript
you have expert knowledge of React
you have practical experience and are willing to work with Legacy Code
you are able to analyze custom complex solutions in a project
you have a perfect command of HTML5 APIs and CSS3
you are up-to-date with the latest ECMAScript functionalities
you have excellent English skills both spoken and written
you know security issues and know how to ensure application security (OWASP, SAST, Semgrep)
you know how to work in Scrum methodology
you are open to actively work with English speaking clients
you have knowledge of working with Server Side Rendering and Next.js
you know how to manage state of web application and know popular 3rd parties libraries (eg. Redux, Tanstack Query, SWR)
you are open to help teammates to overcome obstacles
you can detect application’s bottlenecks and you proactively work to eliminate them

what we'd like to see

you know the test levels and different test strategies
you have experience using MUI and CSS Modules
you have experience working with PHP (Symfony)
